Opening remarks at MediSens

Medisens 2018 brought together industry, clinicians and researchers at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London. Dr Phil Marsden delivered the opening remarks on the first day and chaired a panel of experts resulting in an interesting and active debate. The focus on medical imaging in oncology highlighted the need to listen to end users – clinicians are overwhelmed with data, and top requirement is for decision-supporting tools. Scans need to be performed just prior to decision-making as tumours move and grow. Personalised dose in radiography is key. Good to catch up with industry colleagues and friends too.
